As we tackle the issue of reimbursement of prehospital blood products, we need to present information to federal entities to scope the problem.

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) is interested in initiatives that support and benefit their patient populations. This survey aims to gather information from all service models of 9-1-1 prehospital response agencies currently carrying blood/blood components to understand better patient demographics, types of injury/illness patterns, and funding mechanisms for those receiving prehospital blood transfusions.
